Making a Queen Size Headboard
To estimate or know how wide a queen's headboard is, you must first know how to make or know the basics of how to construct it. Like what was mentioned earlier in this article, the headboard frame for a queen-size bed should be about 6 inches wide and more or less 80 inches tall.
Step 1: Build the Frame
You can use 2x4 boards to build a frame for the size you decide. There must be an even space that supports your frame. You can add horizontal support at the center and two support on each side.
Step 2: Put Webbing to Your Frame
You should cut at least three strips of webbing to use it vertically. Also, cut three pieces to use horizontally and put the webbing for about one foot away from each other. You can use a webbing pull to put the webbing and staple it to the frame.
Step 3: Put on Felt Padding
You need to measure the frame and trim out a piece to the size. Stick it to the frame and cut any extra felt on the sides.
Step 4: Put on Foam Padding
When it comes to putting foam padding, you can use a 1-inch thick foam pad and trim to the frame’s size. You are going to use glue for fabrics to attach the foam padding to the felt.
Step 5: Put on the Polyester Fiber
You need to cut the polyester fiber and cover it around the sides of the headboard. You also need to glue it to the back portions.
Step 6: Put on the Fabric
Trim the fabric with considerable overlap, and then staple it to the back. You have to pull it tight during the stapling process.
Step 7: Add Back the Fabric
In adding back the fabric, you need to cut a piece of fabric for about ¼ inch. It must be shorter than the headboard and attach it to the back with staples.
Headboards are one of the essential furniture for your bedroom. They take many forms from woodenly, to upholstered-inspired headboards. If you need headboards for a full bed, then you need headboards for queen beds.
When it comes to how wide is a queen headboard, there will be a size that will fit your bed and a style that will meet your preference. Most headboards can be attached easily to your bed frame, so you don’t have to worry about doing a lot of work.
